Please keep in mind there are several costs to take into consideration when calculating the cost of becoming certified. It varies from one student to another depending on the choices you have made for preparing for the exam. Online courses are usually less expensive than classroom or bootcamp programs.
In addition to the cost of any training material, books or courses you purchase to prepare for the exam and/or to help you earn the 35 contact hours needed for the exam application, you will also have to pay for PMI examination fees.
To know more about what candidates usually do, browse the new alumni interviews and their answer to the question: "How long did it take you to become PMP certified? Was it a costly process?"
More information on this can be found by reviewing the "PMP Credential Fees & Refund Policy" located in the PMI's PMP Handbook. Here is a link to the PMP Handbook:http://www.pmi.org/Certification/~/media/PDF/Certifications/pdc_pmphandbook.ashx
